MOST ATTEMPTS

*Early in our Tecmo careers seasons were dominated by calling the R & S Z FLY - probably Tecmo's most productive passing play in against CPU play.  The exemplar of this strategy was William Baucom who hucked the ball downfield with alarming alacrity - some of those early records remain intact and this one on attempts is probably the most infamous.

MOST cOMPLETIONS

*Unsurpisingly the same three seasons/players that made up the attempts records also made up our completion records.  The more surprising change was that Colby Joyner had an absolutely monster season in 2021 setting records in completions, completion %, passing yards, passing touchdowns, and fewest interceptions.  If you ever need evidence of how dominant a Dolphins passing attack can be . . . that season is it.

*Season 17 was our first season with a second generation Tecmo player - during this season Andersen and his daughter Mae would play our first ever multi-generation Tecmo season.  He would crush the completion record by almost five percent.

No surprise here, the same three iconic seasons for completions and attempts also make up yards. 

HIGHEST YARDS PER ATTEMPT

*Very bizarre trend, all of the highest yards per attempt records came during the year 2017 - all at the same location - Kernersville, NC.  Coincidence?  Some minds think the Tecmo air is thinner there.

Most Passing Touchdowns

*This number is straight stupid.  First off Dan spent an entire season uninjured and threw an insane number of TD passes - Mark Duper had 56 TD receptions on 66 completions - meaning he had more touchdown catches than non-touchdown catches.  I don't think this record can be broken.

HIGHEST QB RATING

*In one of the best overall seasons for QB play - Matt and I dueled for the best passer rating.  In the end Phil Simms edged out Marino by a miniscule 0.3 passer rating.  Note that pass rating only uses the 63 TD cap and TDs over the cap are not counted.
