There are two defense statistics compiled in Tecmo seasons - they are Sacks and Interceptions. Teams with solid defensive stars such as the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, and Pittsburgh Steelers are typically your best bet for setting defensive individual records.

*Sweet jesus Colby set the multiplayer sack record back in 2011, this was one of the most unbelievable accomplishments that is still strong after a decade later - buoyed by two games against the atrocious Vikings playbook and a full on embodiment of "Samurai" Mike's spirit he was an absolute terror to behold. Accomplishing 17 sacks in a single game and leading his team to the number one overall defense with only 3,083 yards allowed and a 14-2 record in his first ever season.

Season 10 (2018)
*Season 8 is most notable for being in the generation of seasons between 2017 and 2021 where the majority of the crew (with the exception of Matt Andersen and Chris Rice) were all back together in the Carolinas. During this time period coverage play become far more favored (using a FS, SS, or CB as your man controlled player) as the group become much better at playing "bend but not break" defense strategy. The pinnacle of this play occurred in 2017, our most heavily played Tecmo year since 2009. William Baucom would go on to have a tremendous season with the Redskins secondary leading the league with 10 interceptions - a record that has been matched but not beaten.
